Mendota Heights Brush Fire 3-17-2016
Mendota Heights was Dispatched around 1340 Hours to a Reported brush Fire in a marshy area behind the address of 737 Cheyenne Lane. Captain 3 Arrived o/s and reported a small but growing grass fire in a swampy area. Engine 10 arrived and assisted with water packs and stompers. due to the fire's growing and short handed on crews command requested a repage for mendota heights fire, and Eagan be started with an Engine and brush truck. Eagan Engine 20, and Brush 2 responded with 4 personal. shortly after IGH was requested with a brush truck. IGH responded with Brush 13 to start. additional Mendota Heights companies as well as eagan arrived on the East flank and began laying lines/securing a water supply. lines were laid as a precausion for nearby homes as the fire was moving fast in that direction. Command requested an additional Brush and Tanker company from IGH. Brush 32 and Tender 14 Reponded to the scene. the Fire was Declared out at around 1500 with just mop up of the area to do. the cause of Fire was said to be a possible blown transformer.
